So you’ve decided to try off-road driving for the first time. It is critical for newcomers to enrol in a recommended course. This will assist off-roaders in understanding the principles of their vehicle, how to correctly navigate the terrain, avoid problems, and how to get out of them.
When learning how to drive off-road, one of the most important things to remember is to never undertake it alone. Always travel with someone else. It’s a good idea to know everything there is to know about your vehicle, as well as the best tracks to take it on.
It’s critical to choose the ideal tracks when you’re a novice. You don’t want to get too far out of your depth.
When looking for tracks to drive on, keep the following in mind:
The Grade of Track
Consider the track’s difficulty level and if it’s appropriate for your vehicle and skill level.
Terrain
Get a rough idea of the track’s surface. Driving on steep, bumpy routes will be more challenging.
Size
What is the length of the track and how long will it take you to complete it? If you’re a first-time off-road driver, you might want to stick to relatively shorter courses rather than longer ones.
Weather
Tracks are ranked, but this rank is reserved for tracks that are entirely dry. If it has been raining, track issues may be more difficult to tackle.
LANDCRUISER MOUNTAIN PARK, QUEENSLAND
The Landcruiser Hill Park is one of Queensland’s most popular off-road destinations. This 10,000-acre 4WD park is two hours south of Brisbane and the Sunlight Shore. There are almost 200 kilometres of track, making this a great place to learn how to drive off-road.
